the international war crimes court in la hague was watched closely this week. whether we look at bosnia,
croatia,
kosovo or the
european parliament, it receives serious attention. the book price for slavenka draculic coincided with a culmination of attention for the criminal court´s activities.
talking of human rights violations and political crime. the pinochet case is still on the agenda in chile. whether it is of the leader of the so called colonia dignidad or pinochet
itself. times have changed in big parts of latin america and left wing goverments seem to
link up with each other. if we hadn´t bbc news, we wouldn´t even get aware in this part of europe that political life in south america exists.
still on blogs is moldova with some final considerations thanks to telopolis and
scraps of moscow. you may also visit
weekly news of siberien light, a highly recommendable blog for those interested in the topic.
let sauseschritt conclude with some more amusing issues: learn to use chinese net slang,
rent a german, read the daily comic of
dilbert, visit austria´s political landscape for
mr. haider or fly with the
dragons. simply
relax!

immer wieder steht

as e. and sauseschritt went down the stairs from the metro station landungsbrücken both got aware of this very special monument in the harbour of hamburg. there was also some explanation to make us aware of the monument´s history: the monument governing the german colonial governor hermann von wißmann has a peculiar history: inaugurated in daressalam in 1909, and -after the loss of german colonies during the first world war- erected in 1922 in front of the university of hamburg, toppled several times, lastly by the students of the 1968 generation, then stored for 30 years in a cellar of the outskirts of hamburg.

the speicherstadt, an ancient brick-built warehouse complex, is the historical center of the port of hamburg. still today the smell of roasted coffee and exotic spices lies in the air, experience unforgettable events in an authentic hanseatic setting,
tries to convince us the official website of hamburg tourism. sauseschritt, after a long stroll through the area, is considering this a pragmatic lie to attract the growing number of tourists. in reality the new economy has a clearly visible impact on the atmosphere. it wasn´t hamburg, if it wouldn´t be like this! so why not take at look at the
panorama view before deciding on a romantic trip?
